As a Billing Specialist, you will be equipped with the knowledge required to handle all billing tasks necessary to complete the billing cycle efficiently. This is a great opportunity for a Pharmacy Technician, or someone with Pharmacy experience who would be interested in making a pivot in their career.
Daily Responsibilities
· Working with insurance providers, nursing center staff, and prescriber's offices
· Provide support and address feedback regarding billing errors to pharmacy personnel.
· Running daily and monthly logs, posting charges, credits, and adjustments, managing accounts receivable, processing correspondence, handling billing rejections, managing the refill-to-soon rejections process, assisting with prescription billing errors, and managing prior authorization prescription orders.
Skills & Qualifications
· Computer skills, including fundamental knowledge of Windows based software programs, including but not limited to word processing and spreadsheet applications.
· Experience with QS1 and long-term care pharmacy.
· Knowledge of Microsoft Office Program; specifically, MS Excel is preferred.
· Organization skills including the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
· Ability to adhere to regulatory and company compliance, Code of Conduct and Business Ethics (OSHA, DEA, State Board of Pharmacy, etc.)
· Stay up to date with current state, federal and company policies, procedures, and regulations.
· Understand, promote, and comply with rules and regulations governing residents' rights.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
· High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
· At least one year of pharmacy billing experience, preferred.
· Must be capable of maintaining regular attendance.
· Must be dependable and able to work with minimal supervision.
