Distinguishing Characteristics of Work:

The purpose of this position is to ensure that the organization’s efforts to provide quality patient care are recognized by collecting accurate payment for services provided.    In addition, this position will act as a resource to our staff to answer insurance and billing-related questions.   This position will work closely with the Chief Operations Officer in augmenting and carrying out the strategic goals and operating objectives of the billing and insurance team in an efficient, cost-effective manner that is in alignment with the Rehab Associates Way.

 

    Successful Billing Supervisors will:

Understand how your role as a Billing Supervisor impacts the Rehab Associates Way and Family Code.Maintain and foster a positive working relationship among the billing and insurance team following the Rehab Associates Way and Family Code.Maintain the privacy of patients and staff both within the clinic and outside of work following HIPAA guidelines and good employment practices.Assist in the preparation of insurance and billing-related budgets and strategic plans with the assistance of the CEO and COO.Oversees the performance of all members of the billing and insurance team, including insurance specialists, authorization specialists, benefits specialists, payment posting specialists, and financial counselors.Assist with the recruitment of non-licensed staff positions to fill new and vacant positions looking for new team members that have the passion, integrity, and grit to function within the Rehab Associates Way and Family Code.Professionally interact directly with patients either on the phone or in person that have been escalated to by other staff to ensure that their needs are met within the parameters of our policies.Be accessible and professionally interact directly with members of the Rehab Associates team, including clinical staff and billing staff to ensure that our patients’ needs are met.Assist in the onboarding and orientation of all new billing and insurance staff to ensure that quality standards are maintained.Assist in developing, reviewing, and responding to Billing-related Key Performance indicators for the organization.Evaluate staff on an ongoing basis with annual formal performance reviews.Maintain current knowledge of state and federal insurance/payer legislation and regulations.Coordinate efforts with COO and USPh to manage necessary billing functions, like credentialing and contracting / onboarding new insurance plans, etc.Attend weekly meetings with the Chief Operations Officer.Attend leadership functions within Rehab Associates.Perform other responsibilities as requested by the COO or CEO.
