We have an outstanding opportunity for a BIM Coordinator, to join our robust BIM Group, working on complex construction related electrical projects. This position will interact significantly with others on the Engineering team, Project Management, Field Superintendents, and others when appropriate. Depending on project need, this position may be located at San Jose HQ, a major out-of-state jobsite, or possibly a remote home office. The Position reports to the BIM Manager.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Works directly with Project management, Field management, and BIM Manager on deliverables for the project. This includes:Installation drawingsModelingCoordinationRedlines when due to the BIM teamSign-Offs for modeling Create and maintain BIM rolling schedule. Forecast work and hours needed to complete each task and hold operators accountable for meeting those deliverables. Send the 5WLA and summary page each Friday to the team. Validates data in BIM hub. Creates and maintains Installation drawing log. Send the overall and summary page each Friday to the teamDelegates specific date information updates to operators as needed. Identify red flags in schedule that could impact deliverables. Including:Sign Offs after installs are dueSigned off models that still have clashesSign Offs after constructionRFI’s that affect BIM that are not addressed Sets up project and keeps it maintained through the life cycle of projectAttend clash detection meetings. Also attends internal project meetings as required by project team. Sets up initial internal clash detection models for team members to use during coordination. Checks on clash detection reports each week to validate operators are on trackDelegates download and uploads of files for BIM team to useWhen project running smoothly can help creates 3D model based off red-linesWhen project running smoothly can help develops 2D installation drawings and detail drawings from 3D model or sketchesQA/QC own work and work of others on the project and make sure standards are being metSkill Level: Expert Level drafter/CAD operator and modeler Requires minimal training on software and continued training on electrical constructability Requires minimal QA/QC for any work being submitted Advanced Electrical knowledgeEquipment Clearances Can utilize the code book to make sure code is met through modeling Can read project specs Can read blue prints at an advanced level Can make recommendations on best practices and constructability Can perform 3D modeling at an advanced level Can help train others on 3D Modeling and 2D drafting based off standards and best practices Can trouble shoot software and help trouble shoot other individual software Helps maintain and develop BIM standards Requirements: High School Education 5+ years in electrical construction industry Ability to communicate with others Ability to work in a collaborated environment with others Strong work ethic and a cooperative attitude Organizational skills Ability to manage his/her time Positive attitude and readiness to learn Self-Motivator and team playerPLEASE NOTE: CEI will never ask for any money or financial information from applicants during the hiring process.
