Electrical BIM / Revit SpecialistJob Description

The BIM Specialist will work with Building Information Modeling (BIM) and other software packages to develop both 2D and 3D drawings for construction layout. You will collaborate with team members, Project Managers, and jobsite Foremen to create documents that enhance productivity and visualization of construction documents, as well as assist with cost estimating. This team utilizes a precise level of detail within their modeling to produce exact measurements for their field teams and pre-fab departments. They support a variety of projects, including Healthcare, Renewables, Schools, Clinics, Data Centers, and Battery Storage. This person will start by supporting large projects, including 1+ year in duration and $15m+ in electrical contract alone. This is one of the biggest and best BIM departments within the state, and it's a great opportunity for an experienced candidate to continue their career in a stable book of business.

ResponsibilitiesUse Revit, Navisworks, MS Office, Bluebeam, and Robotic Total Station Software to model the project’s electrical systems componentsAttend coordination meetings internally and externally to identify and eliminate potential issues early in the processWork with the project team to coordinate work, clear clashes, and meet customers’ BIM requirementsProduce shop drawings, submittal drawings, as-built drawings, and other necessary documentsDevelop Revit model families for general and project-specific needsRepresent the company professionally at BIM coordination and clash detection meetingsAssist with the coordination and management of electronic project filesProvide information to coworkers for sub-assembly and prefabricationCreate installation drawings for jobsite personnelCoordinate installation with other tradesComplete specific project requirementsEssential Skills5+ years of Revit experience, preferably with an Electrical ContractorExperience with MEP Systems (not just architectural or engineering experience)Understanding of Building Layouts and ability to read BlueprintsWork Environment

This role supports the electrical industrial layout work for various construction projects, such as chocolate factories, cheese factories, food processing plants, schools, hospitals, and other commercial work. The team consists of 6 Revit Technicians and 1 Manager. Initially, the role will be based in Madison for the first 6 months, with the choice to work long-term in the Pewaukee office. The work environment is family-owned, laid-back, and forward-thinking, with a focus on getting projects done on time.

Additional InformationThe internal pre-fab department is the biggest customer and biggest selling point. This team doesn't just use Revit to make a conceptual drawing for a General Contractor, but rather uses Revit to make the projects functional for their partners. This team produces a lot of information in Revit. The data and knowledge they produce is more than sometimes a 30 person team. This is a very detailed and robust approach to Revit utilization, which is great for anyone who thoroughly enjoys the software.This team offers really solid training, specifically on electrical layouts and progression plan. They are open to giving employees the tools and resources to support their development and career progression.This person will also be working with Project Management and Engineering to produce a functional and effective final product.This is a large, growing organization, where many employees have stayed for 20+ years. The pay range for this position is $48.00 - $56.00/hr.
