Bindery Machine Operator Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Bindery Clerk to join our production team. The successful candidate will be working in a production facility where they make passports, travel documents, and CRA documents that require embossment and binding. You will be setting up the machines with raw materials, loading and producing the product. The ideal candidate is someone with related bindery machine operator experience who is able to work on-site in Ottawa.

ResponsibilitiesSet up machines with raw materials and load them for production.Operate bindery machines including cutter, stitcher, embosser, hot press, and industrial laminator.Perform visual inspections of products to ensure quality standards.Package finished products for the shipping department.Review job timelines and multitask as needed during production runs.Essential Skills4 years of experience working as a bindery clerk.Binder certification (if no work experience completed).Ability to use standard printing tools (cutter, stitcher, embosser, hot press, industrial laminator).Ability to obtain secret level clearance.Mechanical aptitude and experience in machine operating.Experience with printing, die cutting, and corrugated processes.Secret level clearance (required)Additional Skills & QualificationsAttention to detail and excellent communication skills required.Bilingual (French) is an asset but not necessary.Experience with foil stamping, chip laying, or laser cutting is a plus.This is a permanent long-term position for a client in Ottawa, so relocation to the city is required.
