**Bindery Helper** **Job Description** We are seeking a Bindery Trainee who is mechanically inclined and eager to learn a new trade. This is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience operating and maintaining cutters, folders, packaging, labeling, and delivering work to the delivery area. You will interact with sales staff, customer service representatives, and other bindery personnel. **Responsibilities** + Perform 'Make Ready' for jobs: read job jacket for all information, make folder ready for each job, check work against proof/dummy for position and correctness, fill out bindery checklists for approval, clarify information with supervisor as needed. + Run jobs on Folder: continuously check work for position and quality, run jobs as quickly as possible while maintaining quality, package jobs neatly and label for shipping, identify and separately package customer samples. + Perform post-run duties: put samples in the jackets, ensure customer samples are of the best quality, notify supervisors of any shortages. + Move jobs to designated areas of Delivery. + Perform machine maintenance and ensure that machines are clean and functioning properly. + Cut printed materials: read instructions for each job's specifications, use computer in the cutter to program each job, fill out bindery checklists for approval, cut jobs, then move to the next department. + Check jobs for quality: check stock tickets for run size, quantity, type of paper, etc., cut blank paper, move paper to the appropriate area. + Perform basic machine maintenance. **Essential Skills** + General labor + Production + Assembly + Machine operation + Bindery + Hand tool + General production + Cleaning + Forklift + Warehouse operation **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + High School education or equivalent + Willingness to learn + Ability to understand general mechanical principles + Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing + Good natural or corrected eyesight **Why Work Here?** We offer a comprehensive benefits package including a 401k.
