We are seeking a detail-oriented and efficient Bindery Operator 1 to join our team in Sacramento, United States. As a key member of our print production facility, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining various bindery machines to produce high-quality finished products.
Set up, adjust, and operate a variety of auxiliary binding machines, including folders, cutters, collators, stitchers, and drillsOperate automatic bindery machines with multiple functions and station capabilitiesInspect equipment for safety issues and perform routine maintenanceMake necessary adjustments to coordinate multiple work stations on a single machineMonitor quality, output, and productivity throughout the production processCollaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of projectsFollow safety protocols and maintain a clean work environmentTroubleshoot and resolve minor equipment issuesAssist in training new team members on bindery operations and proceduresQualificationsFamiliarity with different paper types, weights, sizes, and colorsBasic mathematics skills, including understanding of decimals and metric unitsAbility to use standard and specialized tools for machine adjustmentsSkill in making adjustments to powered machines using handtools (e.g., wrenches, screwdrivers, punches, knives)Ability to read and interpret written work instructions and job ordersKnowledge of operating procedures for bindery equipment such as folders, cutters, collators, and stitchersWorking knowledge of equipment setup, adjustment, and capabilities for folding, collating, and cutting printed materialsPhysical stamina to stand for long periods and lift heavy materialsStrong attention to detail and commitment to quality controlExcellent time management and organizational skillsSafety-conscious mindset and adherence to workplace safety protocolsHigh school diploma or equivalent; vocational training in print production is a plus1-2 years of experience in a bindery or print production environment preferredAdditional InformationThe national pay range for this role is $23.99 - $27.89 per hour. The pay range may be slightly lower or higher based on the geographic location of the hired employee. The actual pay offered may vary based upon, but not limited to: education, skills, experience, proficiency, performance, shift and location.
In addition to base salary, depending on the role, the total compensation package may also include participation in a bonus, commission or incentive program.
