Job Description
We are seeking Folder and Stitcher Operators for our Bindery Department. The role involves the operation and maintenance of equipment, packaging, labeling, and delivery of work to the delivery area. The operator will interact with Sales staff, CSRs, and other bindery personnel to ensure smooth workflow.
ResponsibilitiesPerform 'Make Ready' for jobs by reading job jackets for all necessary information, preparing the folder, checking work against proof/dummy for position and correctness, and filling out bindery checklists for approval.Run jobs on bindery equipment, continuously checking for position and quality, maintaining speed without compromising quality, packaging jobs neatly, and labeling for shipping, including separately packaging customer samples.Conduct post-run duties including placing samples in the jackets, ensuring customer samples are of the best quality, and notifying supervisors of any shortages.Move jobs to designated delivery areas.Perform machine maintenance, ensuring machines are clean and functioning properly.Cut printed materials by reading job instructions, using the computer in the cutter to program each job, filling out bindery checklists for approval, and moving the job to the next department.Check jobs for quality by verifying stock tickets for run size, quantity, type of paper, etc., cutting blank paper, and moving paper to the appropriate area.Perform basic machine maintenance.Essential SkillsGeneral laborProductionMachine operationBinderyAssemblyStitchingLabelingTroubleshootingMechanical skillsIndustrial skillsAdditional Skills & QualificationsHigh School education or equivalentMinimum of one-year experience in the operation of cutting, stitching, and/or folder equipment preferredGeneral knowledge of bindery machineryAbility to understand general mechanical principlesEffective communication skills, both oral and writtenGood natural or corrected eyesightWhy Work Here?

Work Environment
Work in a clean and climate-controlled environment with no PPE required. The facility is a large warehouse equipped with production equipment.

This is a Contract position based out of Springfield, Virginia.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $24.00/hr.
