Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Bindery Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess mechanical skills and have experience working in a printing or bindery environment. This role involves setting up and operating bindery machines, performing hand bindery tasks, and ensuring the quality of the final products.
ResponsibilitiesReview work orders to determine instructions and specifications for bindery tasks.Examine stitched, collated, bound, or unbound product samples for defects such as imperfect bindings, ink spots, torn pages, loose pages, or uncut threads.Set up, run, and adjust bindery machines and devices to accommodate sheets, signatures, or books of specified sizes.Perform hand bindery tasks, including kitting and collating.Trim edges of books to size using cutting machines, book trimming machines, or hand cutters.Stitch or glue endpapers, bindings, backings, or signatures using sewing machines, glue machines, or glue and brushes.Inspect products and decide to accept or reject them to maintain the required quality level.Perform daily and periodic maintenance on bindery/finishing equipment and assist in the repair and rebuilding of equipment when needed.Essential SkillsMechanically inclinedPrinting press operationMachine operationBindery and hand bindery skillsKittingTroubleshootingFlexographyAdditional Skills & Qualifications1+ years of experience in printing or bindery workAbility to read and write in EnglishCapability to lift up to 75 poundsWhy Work Here?

Work Environment
This role operates in a fast-paced printing environment that has both heating and air conditioning. The facility can get warmer or colder when dock doors are open. It is a louder environment, but well-lit and clean.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $41600.00 - $45760.00
