The Biomedical Equipment Technician’s primary purpose is to perform Preventive and Corrective maintenance on all modalities of basic biomedical and life support medical devices. The BMET will use the Computerized Maintenance System to process work orders and input/update assets. The BMET should have a thorough understanding of the asset risk ranking philosophy and be able to explain the Tier Level system of this hospital. The BMET must able to order parts from outside vendors balancing cost effectiveness and repair expediency. The BMET must possess the organizational and leadership skills to arrange and manage outside vendors work in this hospital. BMET must have good working knowledge of using and interpreting schematics, and technical manuals in an independent manner.
BASIC KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:
Education / Licensure / Certification:
2-year degree in bio-medical or equivalent specific military technical training course graduate;Experience / Skills:
2-years of direct in-house Biomedical Equipment Technician experienceDemonstrate ability to use basic biomedical test equipment to include but not limited to: Safety Analyzer, Defibrillator/Pacer Analyzer, Incubator/Infant Warming Analyzer, Electrosurgical Analyzer, Voltage and Ohm Meters, Tachometer, and other devices deem as basic.Individual must have attended and passed OEM training on medical devicesDemonstrated ability to maintain and manage scheduled and corrective maintenanceMust be able to demonstrate strong interpersonal skillsIndividual must be possessed the ability to work in a fast pace environment
