Element has a current opening for a Bio-Separations Chemist III to join our growing team in Ann Arbor, MI. 

Responsibilities Design, execute and analyze large molecule separation (bioseparation) techniques such as HPLC (SEC, RP, AIEX, CIEX), IC, Protein Simple Maurice cIEF, CE-SDS.Perform basic molecular biology techniques such as UV-Vis, Enzymatic Assays, BCA, Bradford, ELISA, Western Blots, SDS-PAGE.Perform method development to meet intent of customer needs.Write reports and proper documentation of the work in cGMP settingCarry out technical transfer of the developed method to other groups within the organizationExecute projects with minimal supervisionHave the ability to analyze data from the qualitative to the rigorously statistical and defend conclusions based on dataHave the ability to demonstrate strong problem-solving, troubleshooting and analytical abilitiesFollow all safety requirements including wearing appropriate personal protective equipmentGenerate supporting laboratory documentationEnsure compliance with government rules and regulations (FDA, cGMP, DEA, ICH, OSHA, etc.)Performs other related duties as assigned. Skills / Qualifications BS, MS, or Ph.D. degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Structural Biology, or Cellular Molecular BiologyExperience working in a cGMP laboratoryHands on experience developing bioseparations methods such as HPLC, IC, CE, cIEFHands on experience with large molecules such as peptides, proteins, AAV or lentivirusEffective scientific writer (experience with report writing)Effective oral presenter (experience with scientific presentations)Effective time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlinesMust be a flexible, adaptable, self-driven team player with a positive attitudeExcellent verbal and written communication skills.Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
