Job Title: Bioanalytical Scientist
Job Description
Join our Discovery Bioanalytical Team in a lab-based role analyzing samples from internal or external in vivo studies. Your work will involve method qualification or sample analysis, with responsibilities extending from sample analysis to reporting data with a fast turnaround time. You will be part of a sophisticated team using LC-MS/MS techniques to conduct sample preparation to meet bioanalytical needs for drug discovery and preclinical studies.
Responsibilities
+ Independently set up and operate LC-MS and automation instrumentation, including problem identification and resolution.
+ Perform routine and non-routine maintenance on lab equipment as necessary.
+ Design and execute all phases of assigned projects including sample preparation, method development, and qualification for LCMS, troubleshooting, data analysis, and reporting.
+ Serve as lead chemist on projects, overseeing a small group of technical staff with minimal supervision.
+ Design experiments and provide work instructions and technical training to junior scientific staff.
+ Communicate with clients regarding study conduct and ensure compliance with study protocols, SOPs, and regulatory requirements.
+ Participate in writing, revision, and review of SOPs and methods for regulatory compliance.
+ Adhere to project timelines and communicate status updates to management as required.
+ Prepare data summaries for scientists to aid in client updates.
+ Act as a technical expert for all aspects of process design and problem-solving.
Essential Skills
+ Experience using Sciex Mass Spec
+ Experience with Shimadzu LC
+ Experience with Analyst Software (Analyst Software by SCIEX)
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ B.S. degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology or a related life science degree with 2-4+ years of industry experience running the above three essential skills
+ Masters degree with 2+ years of experience running the above three essential skills
+ Ph.D. with 2+ years of experience running the above three essential skills
+ Experience with high volume work is a plus
Work Environment
You will be working in a busy lab environment as part of the Discovery Metabolism team, which currently includes six members and is expanding by two more. The lab has recently invested several million dollars in new instrumentation. This is an opportunity to shape the department and help clients get their compounds to market. The team is very close-knit and supportive. Benefits include 23 days of PTO in the first year and paid holidays.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $29.00
