Job Description:

The Biofuels Marketer is responsible for generating value for BP within the Global Distillates trading team in North America. It will cover everything in the Biofuels area from import of Bio Feedstocks right through to sales to the end customer and everything in between. There’s a focus on customer deals plus assets and supply chain optimization within the geography.

This position is in our Chicago office on a 60/40 hybrid schedule.

As the Biofuels Marketer, you will be responsible for acting as one of the trading teams focal points between the trading business and the end customer. You will:

Support the entering of any tenders from counterparties & customers buying and selling termUnderstand and contribute to the process of managing price and regulatory exposure on deals across North AmericaActively seek new business opportunities and develop key relationships with customers across the different Distillate marketsDefine biofuel value proposition to all Distillate marketsProvide information on analytics, trade flows, asset capabilities and supply demand balances to enable the team to assess the competitive landscape, opportunities and build a strategy in new and existing geographies.Work with the Operations teams to establish effective procedures and ways of workingBe performance managed on optimizing BP’s performance across supply chains which service locations within the North AmericaContribute to strategy development

Key Accountabilities:Develop tailored solutions for both physical and inset options via existing programs (ie RSB, ISCC etc) or bp proprietary programsDevelop marketing materialsRepresent the team at relevant conferencesManage the interface between regulatory and voluntary programs for maximum commercial valueManage internal and external exposure of biofuels marketingMaintaining robust, effective and efficient relationships between Refining, Air BP, Fuels Supply, and Trading to develop a joint Biofuels strategy which optimizes the value chain and continuously improves financial outcomes.Proactive portfolio management across the North America geographySupporting, translating and delivering the appropriate Sales & Marketing strategy

Essential Experience and Education:Experience working in Biofuels commercial sales, marketing or trading environment or other Energy Marketer rolesBiofuels product knowledge. Oil and/or US energy market knowledge is desirable.Ability to build relationships in a short period of time with external and internal parties whom incumbent has not met before or worked with beforeAbility to work autonomously and to be able to draw on support networks when required.Clearly understand and can articulate the sources of valueProven track record of identifying and capturing new growth opportunitiesSelf-starter, commercially astute and innovativeStrong influencing skills, with an ability to build consensus and engagement across teams, functions and geographiesPowerful communicator and influencerStrong analytical and logistics skills
