What You Will Do:
We are currently searching for Bioimaging Analyst to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of scientists to develop/ deploy image analysis solutions for ongoing research activities.  This is a part-time, on-site opportunity in Bethesda, MD.  

Provide training in and technical support (including product updates and version control) for programs, algorithms, archives, and pipelines generated during this work.Instruct staff in computational analysis of data.Provide training of students, new investigators, and other laboratory personnel in the use of techniques, procedures, and equipment to complete the objectives of the laboratory.Serve as bioinformatics expert and coordinate with teams of biologists to conduct experimental queries and/or perform portions of studies using complex procedures and techniques common to modern bioinformatics.Provide interpretive analyses of data derived from different experimental platforms to generate biological meaning.Work with staff on planning of experiments, and data analysis for internal and collaborative projects; use bioinformatics expertise to advise and help bench scientists on experimental design and troubleshooting.Prepare scientific reports and progress reports; assemble data to prepare tables, graphs and slides; conduct scientific and program related information searches and report results.Organize daily laboratory notebook on experiments; prepare weekly updates on on-going experiments and tasks; provide monthly progress notes on assigned projects; submit final progress reports and future directions on projects.Utilize and adapt existing bioinformatics techniques to check for trends and patterns in the data.Perform data processing and data analysis with existing computational and statistical methods.Research and review literature to retrieve targeted clinical or scientific information, including novel statistical methods, from publicly available resources.Analyze and evaluate data cleaning and harmonization needs in the using a variety of descriptive statistics and analytic methods.Identify new tools and resources for reaching biologically meaningful conclusions.


What You Will Need:

Master’s Degree: Bachelor's degree with TWO (2) years of additional experience in lieu of the Master's degree.At least ONE (1) year of developing data algorithms or analyzing biomedical images experience.


What Would Be Nice To Have:

Preferred areas of study Computer Programming, Data Processing, Biomedical Engineering, Biological Engineering, Neuroscience, PhysiologyImplement and optimize algorithms and models to analyze biomedical images.Document research findings, methodologies, and algorithms, and prepare technical reports and presentations for both technical and nontechnical audiences.Improve existing image analysis algorithms and methodologies.Experience in developing and implementing algorithms and models for image analysis tasks using Python and popular libraries frameworks.Familiarity with biomedical image modality and formatsStrong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively.Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal ability.

The annual salary range for this position is $65,900.00-$98,900.00. Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, security clearances, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
