Job Summary

Summary
Develop and leverage software solutions and integrated data related to bioinformatics to improve the delivery of patient care. Takes lead on specific technical models of large projects and contributes to the design and architecture of software applications.
Essential Functions
-Develop and maintain scalable and high-performance software components.
-Collaborate with product managers to define project requirements and scope.
-Provide technical expertise in resolving complex software challenges.
-Coach and train other engineers to enhance their technical skills.
-Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards.
-Collaborate with other Digital group staff on the development of software and custom scripts to automate data retrieval, improve user interfaces, and create new statistical tools and reports.
-Perform production support and help scientists resolve issues independently and build better solutions.


 

Qualifications

Education
Bachelor's Degree Bioinformatics required or Bachelor's Degree Related Field of Study required or Master's Degree Bioinformatics preferred

Licenses and Credentials

Experience
Experience in bioinformatics or related software engineering 5-7 years required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Strong proficiency in multiple programming languages and frameworks.
- Strong understanding of database design and optimization.
- Solid leadership and communication skills.
- Back-end and API development abilities using programs such as Python, NodeJS, C#, Java, R, and Perl.
- Strong SQL proficiency.
- Deep familiarity with SDLC principles.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to effectively interact with all levels of staff and external contacts.
