Main Purpose of the Role: Léman Manhattan Preparatory School is seeking a grade 9 Biological and Environmental Sciences / Forensics Teacher. This teacher will join an exciting and collaborative Science Department dedicated to inspiring students from all over the world. As an international school with a global outlook, Léman Manhattan uses the International Baccalaureate Program to equip students with the knowledge and skills to become tomorrow's successful leaders. The ideal candidate will be an experienced and knowledgeable professional capable of teaching the Biological and Environmental sciences, and Forensics. Key Responsibilities: (The primary tasks, functions and deliverables of the role)- Manage the classroom effectively with fair, consistent standards, and clearly communicated expectations.- Encourage students to ask questions and express challenges, fostering an inquiry-based learning environment.- Use a wide range of assessment strategies aligned with course content and objectives.- Provide accurate, constructive reports on student progress in extended coursework and other assessments, maintaining open communication with students and parents.- Differentiate instruction and assessment to meet the diverse needs of learners.- Identify and refer students who need additional academic support.- Facilitate student expression through spoken, written, and digital communication.- Create a safe and supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable taking intellectual risks.- Integrate learning resources and technology to enhance lessons where appropriate.- Promote cooperation and tolerance through group work, developing students’ collaboration skills.- Foster a global mindset and mutual respect within the classroom.- Guide students in taking responsibility for their actions and learning.- Maintain accurate records of student progress and classroom activities.- Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of IB curriculum and instructional strategies relevant to the IB ESS framework.- Collaborate effectively with colleagues and contribute to the school community. Qualifications:-Experience in teaching High School Biological and Environmental Sciences- Forensics experience welcomed, but not necessary- Master’s Degree in Education or a related field.- At least 3 years of teaching experience, preferably in a high-performing or international school setting.- Experience with data-informed instruction and curriculum development.- Proficiency in integrating instructional technology.- Strong written communication, public speaking, and presentation skills.
