Biomedical Electronic Technician I - Biomedical Equipment

Founded in 1906, McLeod Health is a locally owned and managed, not for profit organization supported by the strength of more than 900 members on its medical staff and more than 2,900 licensed nurses. McLeod Health is also composed of approximately 15,000 team members and more than 90 physician practices throughout its 18-county service area. With seven hospitals, McLeod Health operates three Health and Fitness Centers, a Sports Medicine and Outpatient Rehabilitation Center, Hospice and Home Health Services. The system currently has 988 licensed beds, including Hospice and Behavioral Health. The hospitals within McLeod Health include: McLeod Regional Medical Center, McLeod Health Dillon, McLeod Health Loris, McLeod Health Seacoast, McLeod Health Cheraw, McLeod Health Clarendon and McLeod Behavioral Health.  





Technician will be responsible for, at a minimum, performing asset management, repair, and preventative maintenance duties on a variety of clinical devices. Technician must utilize excellent customer service skills while performing duties. 

Work Schedule 
Full-time (80 hours biweekly) as scheduled; call is required. 

Department Description 
Biomedical Equipment is composed of a team of BMETs, Imaging Specialists, and Equipment Transporters, who collaborate to perform asset management, repair, and preventative maintenance duties on a variety of clinical devices for all three McLeod campuses and all of the McLeod physician practice offices. 

Skills Required 
Technician shall possess an Associate's Degree in Biomed, or have completed equivalent advanced military Biomedical training. AAMI certification a plus. 

Experience Required 
Experience with surgical devices, including sterilizers is a big plus. Technician must be able to perform asset management, repair, and preventative maintenance tasks on at least basic clinical equipment initially, gradually progressing to more complex systems over a reasonable time period. Technician must apply excellent customer service skills at all times, and be an outstanding team player. Technician must be willing and able to learn new and varied devices. Experience operating and repairing computers and computer networks a big plus.
