Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Biomedical Engineer to improve the performance, diagnose failure modes, and verify the robustness of our instruments. The ideal candidate will design and execute experiments, develop and optimize test scripts, and recommend improvements for related processes. This role requires proactive troubleshooting and debugging of fluidic, mechanical, and control system problems, as well as supporting development and manufacturing to determine root causes for product and system failures.
ResponsibilitiesImprove the performance, diagnose failure modes, and verify the robustness of instruments.Design and execute experiments.Develop and optimize test scripts.Recommend improvements for related processes.Proactively troubleshoot and debug fluidic, mechanical, and control system problems.Assist development and manufacturing to determine root causes for product and system failures.Support the development, execution, and review of integration and verification testing for consumable and instrument systems in support of development, verification/validation, manufacturing transfer, and commercialization.Essential Skills4-6 years of directly related experience.Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering or other science disciplines.Experience with standard laboratory techniques and aseptic technique.Experience working in a BSL-2 environment with live organisms.Excellent organizational and documentation skills.Extensive experience with nucleic acid techniques (DNA quantification, qPCR, PCR multiplex).Solid phase DNA extraction and purification using magnetic particles.Data interpretation and analysis experience.Ability to effectively present data to a team.Assay automation and microfluidic medical device development.Knowledge of complex life science systems and assays, including fluidic and microfluidic consumable devices.Experience working with human blood.Work Environment
90% of the time will be spent in the lab, primarily in a cleanroom environment.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $42.00 - $46.00
