Position Summary:
Inspects tests, calibrates, troubleshoots, maintains, and repairs biomedical and electromechanical devices. This work is performed under general supervision and using the tools and techniques of biomedical technology.
Education:
Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Requires the completion of formal training in a department-approved certificate program in Biomedical Technology or Electronics at a recognized technical school, college, or apprenticeship sponsor organization. Additionally, must demonstrate the accomplishment of continuing education annually.
Licensure/Certification:
Certified Biomedical Equipment Technician preferred.
Required Work Experience:
One to two years related work experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Basic familiarity with electronic equipment, biomedical equipment operations, and hospital operating procedures as acquired through an orientation period of one to three months. Knowledge of electronics, safety rules, procedures and practices, including the proper use of test and safety equipment as defined by industry standards. Basic knowledge of computer applications (PC- and network-based), including Windows, departmental e-mail, and custom Clinical Engineering Services database. A demonstrated ability to test, troubleshoot and repair biomedical equipment and electromechanical devices.Join an amazing global healthcare organization!
