**Job Summary:** The Medical Device Cybersecurity technician will have technical understanding of the engineering and security components of medical devices, including other related product spaces such as Internet of Things (IoT), embedded systems, etc. Recent IT skills via previous hand-on technical experience is required in systems administration, application development, or network administration (one or more) to understand potential medical device/system cyber security issues and qualify their risk appropriately Based on those learnings, the incumbent will be responsible for implementing workflow solutions to robustly manage medical device cyber security challenges as they present in themselves in UCSF’s and Benioff Children’s Hospital Oakland’s (BCH-Oakland) complex care environment. The incumbent will also be responsible for implementing programmatic security controls assigned by the Chief Medical Device and Security Manager to enable BCH-Oakland’s Biomedical Engineering team to identify and manage medical device cyber issues and that senior management can understand and manage these risks. The incumbent will additionally work with industry and peer organizations to ensure that BCH-Oakland’s capabilities are tracking with the medical device cyber security industry and peer institutions at large. **Job Requirements:** **Education:** Associates degree in biomedica engineeringl/computer science/ information technolgoy/ related area and / or equivalent experience / training perferred. High School Diploma Required. Bachelor's Degree preferred **Experience** : 5 years of experience in clinical systems, biomedical engineering, information technology or cyber security of medical devices required. **Knowledge/Skills** : Maintain a current driver's license and meet all hospital insurance policy carriers- requirements. Personal computer skills. Word processing software (MS Word). Spreadsheet/database software (Excel). Strong English reading, verbal, written communication skills. Ability to interact successfully with management, physicians, Board members and staff. Ability to work independently, problem solve and handle multiple priorities. Ability to use service manuals and schematics to maintain, calibrate and repair a wide variety of biomedical equipment. Provide technical support on equipment operation and maintenance for the purpose of supporting the clinical staff. **Certification Preferred:** + Offensive Security Certified Professional (OSCP) or other Offensive Security Certification - OSWP/OSCE/OSEE/OSWE + Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or Healthcare CISSP + Certified Fair™ Master Practitioner and Educator + Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC) **Physical Requirements:** Sit: Up to 3 hours/day Stand/Walk: 6-8 hours Bend/Stoop: Up to 6 hours Reach: Up to 6 hours Rep Use of UE/Grasp: Up to 6 hrs Lift/Push/Pull: 50 lbs, over 50# with assistance or equipment This job requires the ability to hear alarms clients and/or instruction.
