Biomedical Technician - Clinical Engineering

This is a combined posting for an Associate Biomedical Technician, Biomedical Technician, and Senior Biomedical Technician. The requirements of each role are listed below under each associated title. The Associate Biomedical Technician is responsible for installation, electrical safety inspections, periodic maintenance, performance testing and major and minor repairs of medical equipment in assigned areas of the hospital, as well as external/retail clients. The Associate Biomedical Technician operates sophisticated test equipment and instrumentation for inspections, performance tests, and periodic maintenance/repairs of medical equipment. The testing data acquired from said testing is analyzed and may be prepared for reports.

The Biomedical Technician operates sophisticated test equipment and instrumentation for inspections, performance tests, and periodic maintenance/repairs of medical equipment. The testing data acquired from said testing is analyzed and may be prepared for reports. The Biomedical Technician has a thorough understanding of biomedical equipment commonly used in general care areas. The Biomedical Technician may be exposed to or responsible for modalities such as life-support and advanced equipment that will prepare them for the Senior Biomedical Technician role.  In addition, must be able to perform tasks outlined in Associate Biomedical Technician.

The Senior Biomedical Technician provides repair, scheduled maintenance, and safety testing on medical equipment. Work assigned is advanced in difficulty requiring specialization and advanced training. The Senior Biomedical Technician provides a high level of technical support and training to clinical departments in area of expertise and assume responsibility for their operation. In addition, incumbent will be expected to work closely with clinical departments to assist in development of processes/procedures relative to clinical use of technologies in area of expertise. This position is expected to have the ability to multitask several projects. In addition, must be able to perform tasks outlined in Associate Biomedical Technician & Biomedical Technician.

Associate Biomedical Technician:

Required qualifications:

Upon request: If position requires driving, a valid driver’s license and proof of insurance per company policy will be required.

Preferred qualifications:

Associate's degree in Biomedical Equipment Technology or Electronics Technology, Military or Technical Training 1 year of Experience in repair of biomedical equipment or equivalent field

 

Biomedical Technician:

Required qualifications:

Associate's degree in Biomedical Equipment Technology or Electronics Technology, Military or Technical Training or equivalent education/experience. Upon request: If position requires driving, a valid driver’s license and proof of insurance per company policy will be required.

Preferred qualifications:

3 years of Experience in repair of biomedical equipment.

 

Senior Biomedical Technician:

Required qualifications:

Associate's degree in biomedical Equipment Technology or Electronics Technology or Applicable military training Upon request: Driving may be necessary as part of this role and caregivers will be expected to comply with all state laws. You may be asked to provide proof of driver license and auto insurance. See policy for additional information

Preferred qualifications:

Biomedical Technician certification upon hire 8 years of Experience in repair of biomedical equipment

Associate Biomedical Technician, Hobbs, NM Min: $21.25, Max: $33.15

 

Biomedical Technician, Hobbs, NM Min: $25.16, Max: $39.82

 

Senior Biomedical Technician, Hobbs, NM Min: $29.87, Max: $47.28
