Apple’s Biophotonics Group is seeking a scientist for analysis of clinical datasets. The candidate will join a team of innovative scientists and engineers to design, validate, and implement the next generation of bio-sensing technologies. The ideal candidate will have experience with analysis and interpretation of datasets collected from optical sensing devices that interact with skin and other biological media.DescriptionDescription• Lead for day-to-day assessment of dataset quality and performance results during ongoing clinical studies • Analyze, interpret and report on study data conducted with biophotonics prototypes • Uncover what causes data variations and their impact on measurement performance • Explore complex datasets creatively to uncover hidden patterns, trends and insights • Develop advanced understanding of biophotonics instrumentation, tissue optics and algorithm developmentMinimum QualificationsMinimum QualificationsBS degree in mathematics, science or engineeringMATLAB or Python programming ability for data analysisKey QualificationsKey QualificationsPreferred QualificationsPreferred QualificationsMS degree with 4+ years industry experience or PhDDemonstrated experience analyzing/interpreting biomedical sensor data from humansInterest and ability to learn principles of biophotonics instrumentationExperience with multivariate analysis techniques such as PCA and linear regressionExperience using Git and maintaining code repositoriesStrong teamwork and communication skillsEducation & ExperienceEducation & ExperienceAdditional RequirementsAdditional RequirementsPay & BenefitsPay & BenefitsAt Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $143,100 and $264,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple’s Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
