Biorepository Coordinator I

 

The Tissue Core Facility at the Moffitt Cancer Center is seeking a talented and motivated individual to join the Tissue Core Total Cancer Care Laboratory as a Biorepository Coordinator I.

Ideal Candidate:

The Biorepository Coordinator should possess knowledge that will allow them to perform general laboratory techniques and follow established practices and protocols within the core facility. Performs assigned tasks and learns new procedures under minimal direction of senior staff. Candidate must demonstrate the ability to apply related concepts in broadly defined means with minimal guidance. Attends in-house courses, seminars, and workshops, related to core activities and cancer biology.

Responsibilities:

The Biorepository Coordinator I will be responsible for request management and support for the Tissue Core Total Cancer Care laboratory projects in the following ways:

Biospecimen Preservation, Processing, and Distribution Stewardship and maintenance of the general specimen library Specimen labeling, handling, and packaging for shipment Documentation and inventory management in inventory system application

Credentials & Qualifications:

High School Diploma/GED and 3 years laboratory experience in academic, industry, clinical, research, or veterinary lab is required (OR) Associate Degree in Biological Science or related field and 1 year laboratory experience in academic, industry, clinical, research, or veterinary lab is required (OR) BS Degree in Biological Science or related field + 0 years experience. Proficient use of Microsoft applications is necessary.
