BioSample Coordinator

Job Title: BioSample Coordinator
Location: Oro Valley, AZ
Type: Contract, Potential for extension or conversion to permanent

Overview
Performs sample accessioning in CDx CAP/CLIA Laboratory. Follows standard procedures in performing the tasks, knowledgeable with CAP, CLIA and other accrediting and regulatory agency requirements in laboratory practice and utilizes good documentation practices and following laboratory safety policies. Leads one or more process improvement workstreams within the BioSample Management Group as assigned.

Responsibilities Receives and opens sample shipments and performs triaging of samples to respective testing locations. Performs accessioning of samples and quality control of demographic data input. Communicates with clients on held and rejected samples. Performs labeling of samples and quality control check of labeling. Performs imaging of stained slides returned from Pathology, ensuring all deliverables are met within the required timeline. Coordinates the execution of all internal and client requests, including global shipments of sample while maintaining accurate chain of custody. Manages team email by ensuring all requests have been completed. Leads and ensures deliverables are met for one or more process improvement workstreams within the BioSample Management Group as assigned. Other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
Formal Training/Education H.S. Diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience. - REQUIRED
Experience 4 years of related experience - REQUIRED
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Strong understanding and knowledge of good laboratory practices and regulatory compliance. - PREFERRED Ability to work with relevant computer software packages, including spreadsheets and word-processing packages (e.g., Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word), is essential. - PREFERRED Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. - PREFERRED Ability to work under time pressure while maintaining high standards of precision and data quality. - PREFERRED Benefits
