Thermo Fisher Scientific is hiring a transformative, team-oriented sales leader to develop and implement business strategies and achieve revenue target growth of the BID product portfolio in Direct markets, through a local account manager team, inside sales team and distributor partners in the stated geographic territory.
The BID, including qPCR consumables, business in Africa is a $13M business. The role will expect the achievement of sales targets, both quarterly and annually!
Responsibilities:Develops growth strategies in partnership with the direct Sales team, Distributor Managers / Distributor and supports them to exploit those opportunities to meet or exceed plan.Ensures that all vital resources needed are used efficiently and optimally to close sales in favor of the Company.Maintains and develops customer relationships on the short and long term. Focus on the strategic development of key customer relationships by implementing and updating Account/Territory Planning (across-functions).Has accountability and responsibility for developing and driving the broad actions in the strategic BID focus areas.Analyzes and delivers information from the field to allow the company to develop strategies and products appropriate to the market. Information includes forecasting and lost order reporting as well as competitive information.Focuses on key accounts and key opinion leaders to drive innovation and the latest BID technology solutions into the market.In conjunction with the Commercial organization & distributors, coordinates and delivers seminars within the region to showcase the LSG BID portfolio.Participates actively in local networks of service, support, customer services, marketing, and finance to increase area performance.Ensures the BioSciences Africa team updates and maintains the CRM tool to ensure full visibility of customer information across the organization.Actively participates in training/onboarding of new colleagues and Distributors.Works closely with the Distributor Manager and other team members to drive incremental business.Promotes Africa within the organization, willing to travel in the assigned territory and occasionally in Europe or the USA.Minimum Experience and Qualifications:A higher level or academic degree (BSc or equivalent experience) in Life Sciences. MBA or equivalent experience is an advantage.Broad experience (5-7 years) in sales/technical sales function, and proven track record in BioSciences or closely related business.Previous Channel Management experience preferable.People Leader experience.Strong communication and presentation skills with proficiency in English.Research/Bench experience in the field of Life Science will be desirable.Full valid driver's license required and clear criminal record.
