Summary of Job Duties:The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) is seeking a highly motivated Biostatistician to support the Biostatistics Department’s mission of enhancing the quality of research conducted at UAMS. The Biostatistician will provide expert statistical guidance to UAMS investigators, assisting in protocol and grant development, data analysis, and statistical programming. The successful candidate will work under the guidance of Biostatistics Faculty or advanced research staff to ensure high-quality research outcomes.
Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Statistics, Biostatistics, or a related field.
Minimum of 1 year of experience (may be substituted with additional education).
Proficiency in statistical programming languages, preferably SAS and/or R.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Additional experience in a research setting.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

Responsibilities:
Assist investigators with protocol and grant development.
Perform data preparation, introductory to intermediate-level data analysis, and statistical programming using SAS, R, or SPSS.
Support faculty and investigators in the preparation of reports, manuscripts, presentations, and grant applications.
Collaborate with researchers across UAMS campuses in clinical, basic, and population health sciences.
Work closely with informaticists, database managers, and research administrators.
Assist faculty in meeting the educational goals of the department.
