This position will focus on quality improvement projects, scholarly projects utilizing data from electronic health records ( EHR ) and/or research data collection, data analytics, causal and predictive modeling, systematic reviews and meta-analyses, and various other research initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in biostatistics, excellent analytical skills, familiarity with epidemiologic methods, and a passion for improving healthcare outcomes through rigorous and reproducible data analysis. **Responsibilities** **Essential Functions:** * Collaborate with clinician faculty and health researchers on quality improvement projects aimed at enhancing healthcare delivery and patient outcomes. * Design, analyze, and interpret data from independent scholarly and research projects in both community and clinical settings. * Select and implement appropriate statistical methodologies for data analytics, predictive and causal modeling, and risk stratification. * Assist in designing and conducting analytics for population health and value-based care research, including federally funded projects. * Analyze health claims data and clinical trial data to test hypotheses and identify trends and patterns. * Work with data extracted from health information systems, ensuring effective data management and cleaning. * Organize data files and annotate data programs to ensure transparency and reproducibility of research processes. * Develop data visualizations (e.g., figures, tables) to effectively communicate research findings. * Assist in the preparation of manuscripts, grant proposals, and presentations. * Provide statistical consulting and support to faculty, staff, and students within the department. * Work under the supervision of a faculty epidemiologist/biostatistician, who will assist in managing project priorities and providing statistical and epidemiologic oversight. * Advise and coordinate study design and scholarly activities. * Stay current with advancements in biostatistical and epidemiologic methods, health information technology, and statistical software tools. **Preferred Qualifications:** * Master’s degree in Biostatistics, Statistics, Data Science, Public Health, Clinical Investigation, or a related field. * Proficiency in statistical software such as SAS , R, or Stata. * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. * Experience working with clinicians and health researchers. * Expertise in data analytics, predictive and causal modeling, and risk stratification. * Knowledge of population health, value-based care, and health claims data analysis. * Excellent written and verbal communication skills. * Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment. * Experience with or knowledge of analytic techniques for clinical trials, systematic reviews, longitudinal cohorts, and routinely collected health data (e.g., EHR ). * Proficiency in data visualization design and data management. * Experience in manuscript preparation, grant writing, and study design coordination. **Minimum Qualifications** This position requires a solid knowledge of standard statistical analysis procedures with a minimum of an MS degree in statistics, biostatistics, a related field, or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience), and demonstrated knowledge of at least one statistical programming language such as SAS or R. Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). An ability to work on several projects simultaneously and manage deadlines, and excellent communication skills, including the ability to clearly explain statistical techniques and present data results. **Preferences** * Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively. * Familiarity with machine learning techniques and their application in healthcare analytics. * Experience working in academic or healthcare settings. **Type** Benefited Staff **Special Instructions Summary** Interested candidates should submit a cover letter, resume/CV, and contact information for three professional references.
