Biostatistics Internship
The Biostatistics Internship offers a motivated individual an opportunity to spend a summer placement within the Department of Biostatistics at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. The Intern will be matched to a Biostatistics faculty member and work within their team, and the internship will be project-focused with exposure to various components of our working environment. The internship is in Memphis, TN. Candidates should note that our internship is a full-time learning experience. You should expect to be available Monday through Friday during standard office hours starting June 2, 2025 – August 11, 2025 (some flexibility on dates may be determined on a case-by-case basis). Typical Learning Opportunities As an experiential and immersive program, you will develop and hone your practical skills in a broad range of areas, including: Processing, analysis, and presentation of data Design of data collection instruments and data management systems • Statistical techniques Reporting and interpretation of results and explanations Software, statistical methodologies, and statistical writing through real-world applications Additionally, you will take part in a variety of activities such as hospital tours, networking opportunities, building relationships with a variety of professionals across the institution, and have access to a dedicated mentor, to continue developing new skills. Education Required Interested candidates must be enrolled in an accredited college undergraduate or graduate program Candidates are accepted from all majors; an interest in math, statistics, data science, or computer science is preferred. A 3.0 GPA or above. GPA will be validated by transcripts and communication with the advisor. Successful candidates will qualify for a stipend. Subject to availability, St. Jude may have reduced-priced housing, but the selected intern remains responsible for any housing expenses.
