Perform routine inspection operations on limited variety of rotor blades, composite and component parts.
Typical Responsibilities
Work from Engineering drawings, specifications, check sheets, detailed instructions and established inspection procedures.
Inspect standard detail parts, machining and assembly process involved in the production of metal and composite rotor blades.
Inspect visually and with measuring instruments various component parts such as ribs, spars, cuffs, etc. for conformance with specified dimensions, quality of finish, material and process specifications.
Inspect assembly processes and adhesive bonding operations at various stages for quality of workmanship and conformance to specifications.
Check completed blades for balance and quality of finish.
Examine blades for defect using prescribed inspection methods to include condition of pressurized (BIM) blades, and perform other routine inspection operations to determine extent of repairs and check out repairs as required.
Perform other related blade/composite inspection duties, of a limited scope, as directed.
Refer only unusual conditions to working leader or foreman.
Perform operator checklist as required and comply with all EH&S procedures.
As required segregate waste material and follow good housekeeping practices.

Basic Qualifications:
Experience- 9 months to 1 year
Education- Requires trade knowledge of inspection methods metal and machining operations and adhesive bonding practices.
Overall light physical effort required to lift light to average weight parts, components, etc., and use of various measuring instruments and test equipment.
Desired Skills:
4 years formal trades training, or equivalent.
Judgment required conducting routine inspection operations according to standard inspection procedures. Make decisions as to acceptability of blades and blade components. Ingenuity in determination on variables of workmanship that deviate from specifications.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: Standard Monday to Friday 40 hour work week
