Job Description
As a Chemical Blending Technician, you will be responsible for blending in three separate tank farms while ensuring adherence to the Customer’s Quality Process Standards and Specification Requirements. You will be expected to batch concentrate, perform daily process rounds, troubleshoot processing system problems, and take appropriate corrective actions. Additionally, you will work with production lines during weekly sanitizations and treat wastewater streams.
ResponsibilitiesBlend chemicals in three separate tank farms.Understand and perform to the Customer’s Quality Process Standards and Specification Requirements.Batch concentrate.Perform daily process rounds.Troubleshoot processing system problems and take appropriate corrective actions.Work with production lines during weekly sanitizations.Treat wastewater streams.Perform work on laboratory equipment for solution testing, including chlorine meter for chlorine levels.Assist with the overall safe, efficient, and continuous operation of assigned blending responsibilities and equipment.Ensure that quality products are produced in the appropriate quantity and within established guidelines.Work as a productive leader/member of the manufacturing team and independently.Keep blending equipment sanitized.Maintain and monitor water systems and wastewater disposal.Monitor all production to ensure lotion requirements are met.Perform cleaning and sanitization of process equipment and blending areas.Conduct chemical raw material inventories as needed.Perform written and verbal communication with Quality Assurance and Manufacturing personnel using process measurement data.Place non-conforming items on hold using company Hold/Reject process.Assist in root cause determination, corrective action, and documentation process.Comply with all regulatory agency processes and procedures.Handle and dispose of chemicals properly, understanding the GHS codes.Understand and comply with all lockout/tag-out procedures.Work in a safe and ethical manner at all times.Follow all sanitary practices for sampling of process equipment, materials, and assets.Essential SkillsMathematical competence.Computer literacy.Experience in the chemical industry.Ability to lift 50 lbs continuously throughout a 12-hour shift.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with GMP, blending, compounding, and batching.Work Environment
You will work in a temperature-controlled manufacturing setting focused on wet wipe production.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $19.00 - $20.00/hr.
