Evening Shift Medical Technologist (Blood Bank)

Qualifications:

NYS Clinical Laboratory Technologist License or valid permit issued by NYSDOE Clinical Laboratory to TechnologyExperience in Blood Bank

Preferred Qualifications:

ASCP certification (preferred but not required if you have a full New York State MLT license)Open to newly licensed technologists with an interest in blood bank

Job Duties:

Perform qualitative and quantitative analysis on all specimens received in the laboratory for the assigned stationUnderstand the principles of tests performed and have working knowledge of the equipment used in the assigned stationEnsure that all specimens are put in appropriate storageFollow all quality control policies and procedures to ensure reliable patient resultsRecognize critical or life-threatening results, verify results, and report to the appropriate clinicianDocument all results in the LIS

Work Environment:

Hospital medical laboratory3-4 technologists on each shift in the blood bank

Shift:

Evening: 3:30pm-12am or 4pm-12:30am10% shift differential

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $60.00/hr.
