Job Title: Clinical Laboratory Technologist - Blood Bank- Fulltime role with full benefits.
Job Description: We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Clinical Laboratory Technologist to join our Blood Bank team. The ideal candidate will perform qualitative and quantitative analysis on all specimens received in the laboratory for the assigned station. The Technologist will have a thorough understanding of the principles of tests performed and a working knowledge of the equipment used in their station.
Qualifications:
NYS Clinical Laboratory Technologist License or valid permit issued by NYSDOE Clinical Laboratory to TechnologyExperience in Blood BankASCP certification is preferred but not required, provided the candidate has a full New York State MLT licenseOpen to newly licensed technologists with an interest in blood bankJob Duties:
Perform qualitative and quantitative analysis on all specimens received in the laboratoryEnsure that all specimens are put in appropriate storageFollow all quality control policies and procedures to ensure reliable patient resultsRecognize critical or life-threatening results, verify results, and report to the appropriate clinicianDocument all results in the Laboratory Information System (LIS)Shift Details:
Evening shifts: 3:30 PM - 12:00 AM or 4:00 PM - 12:30 AM7.5-hour shifts with a 1-hour meal/lunch break, totaling 37.5 hours per week10% differential on all 2nd and 3rd shiftsOnsite parking available for $40 per month if needed or you can use public transportationTraining:
Training duration depends on experience, typically 1 month, possibly extending to 2 months for less experienced candidatesPreferred training on day shift due to more available supportFlexible scheduling for training if day shift is not possibleMandatory 2-day general orientation every other week (Monday/Tuesday)Top Skills:
