Evening Shift Medical Technologist (Blood Bank) Qualifications: + NYS Clinical Laboratory Technologist License or valid permit issued by NYSDOE Clinical Laboratory to Technology + Experience in Blood Bank Preferred Qualifications: + ASCP certification (preferred but not required if you have a full New York State MLT license) + Open to newly licensed technologists with an interest in blood bank Job Duties: + Perform qualitative and quantitative analysis on all specimens received in the laboratory for the assigned station + Understand the principles of tests performed and have working knowledge of the equipment used in the assigned station + Ensure that all specimens are put in appropriate storage + Follow all quality control policies and procedures to ensure reliable patient results + Recognize critical or life-threatening results, verify results, and report to the appropriate clinician + Document all results in the LIS Additional Skills & Qualifications: + Medical technologist + Laboratory experience + NYS license + ASCP certification Why work here? + One of the best clinical labs in the US + State-of-the-art equipment with the latest technology + Growing site with opportunities for career growth + Competitive salary + Seeking individuals who want to be with the hospital long-term + Holiday (6 days) and vacation pay (10 days) Work Environment: + Hospital medical laboratory + 3-4 technologists on each shift in the blood bank Shift: + Evening: 3:30pm-12am or 4pm-12:30am + 10% shift differential Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $60.00/hr.
