Performs a variety of routine tasks associated with the maintenance and service of Biomedical and instrumentation including: Preventative Maintenance, Repairs, Calibration, and Incoming Inspections. Must be willing and able to periodically travel locally to assist in team efforts to complete maintenance activities health system-wide. This position reports to the Manager, Biomedical Engineering (Mgr, BMET).
Performs electronic, electrical, and mechanical repairs/corrective maintenance of medical equipment including specialized physiological life support and non-life support medical equipment in a timely and quality manner to assure equipment readiness for department use. Coordinates repairs with vendor and department as needed.
Performs scheduled maintenance on various types of medical equipment and systems including specialized systems. Adherence to scheduled maintenance schedule to allow for optimum use and dependability of equipment by employees and medical staff in a safe environment for patients. Assures that required PM’s are done in compliance with established job plans and procedures.
Follows detailed written testing and repair procedures.
Performs installations, incoming inspections, and coordinates installations with vendors when required and validates vendor actions.
Orders repair parts, manuals, recommends spares to add to inventory, maintains service documentation. Provides accurate, complete, and timely information to the computerized maintenance database. This includes accurate work order and labor reporting in addition to complete work order remarks that describe what was done to satisfy the work order.
Uses tools and equipment appropriately. Knows when and how to use tools and equipment to perform the job in an efficient, effective and safe manner.
Maintains and contributes to a safe work environment. Adheres to all safety policies, procedures and practices, including the wearing of protective clothing and gear.

Decisions are made in the interest of patient safety, the department operations, and the ability of the machinery to function properly.
Required
Associate's Degree or equivalent Associates Degree in Applied Science of Biomedical Engineering, Associates Degree in Applied Science of Electronics, or Military Equivalent.
