Montefiore Medical Center, Department of Anesthesiology is in search of a full-time Board-Certified Anesthesiologist to join their leadership team as Division Director of Thoracic Anesthesia. The Division of Thoracic Surgery provides services at several Hospitals of the Montefiore Health System. The service is growing and includes surgical procedures and Interventional Pulmonology. The successful candidate will be an innovative and collaborative leader who aligns with goals of the thoracic surgeons and interventional pulmonologists giving strong foundational support from the Department of Anesthesiology.
The Division Director will innovate plans for clinical and academic growth, while providing oversight for the thoracic service in a vibrant and growing hospital network. This opportunity allows the individual to develop a collaborative management style while cultivating the spirit of excellence in service, with a strong focus on educating the next generation of thoracic anesthesiologists. The Division Director of Thoracic Anesthesia reports to the Chair of the Department of Anesthesiology.
Responsibilities
Create a hiring and onboarding process for new faculty Ensure the highest level of expertise within the Division by maintenance of current standards of care through continuing medical education Standardize the day-to-day oversight and clinical operations of Thoracic Anesthesia services Interface with the leadership of the Thoracic Surgery and Interventional Pulmonology (IP) services to create an efficient surgical workflow Collaborate with the Vice Chair of Perioperative Medicine and the Chiefs of Thoracic Surgery and IP to implement evidence-based ERAS protocols for patients undergoing thoracic procedures Training and supervision of CRNAs, residents and fellows Participate in team science to support professional and clinical advancement of faculty in your division Collaborate with leadership in Anesthesia Technical Support to evaluate and maintain equipment and supplies needed for anesthesia services in the Division Educate the Anesthesiology Department in advancements for Thoracic Anesthesia and IP Support and conduct collaborative research in advancement of Thoracic Anesthesia Work with Quality Division and Director of IT innovation to create quality dashboards Support the Department’s goals for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion practices
What We Offer
In addition to a competitive salary of $450,000-550,000, we offer the opportunity to make additional income with proportional RVU incentives to clinical activity and call responsibilities. Requirements
MD, DO or foreign equivalent B/C in Anesthesiology Eligible for New York State Medical License Demonstration of leadership abilities Demonstration of DEI activities impacting healthcare and the community
