Job Overview:

BCBA-D will direct and oversee the assessment and treatment of patients diagnosed with developmental disabilities, pediatric feeding disorders, or other behavioral diagnoses and develop and coordinate research programs. The clinical faculty member's responsibilities include (a) conducting initial evaluations and triaging patients to services and (b) maintaining a caseload of patients, consisting of new patients and follow-up patients. Administrative responsibilities include (a) maintaining a budget for the program; (b) hiring and training new employees; (c) developing, writing, and implementing policies and procedures for the program; (d) participating in outreach activities in the community; and (e) developing and maintaining an active research program. Faculty members will recruit and supervise students' research, internship, and practicum experiences and will provide research and clinical supervision to professional behavior analysts, graduate students, interns, and postdoctoral fellows.

Qualifications:

Required:

Doctorate in psychology or behavior analysisLicensed or board-certified as a psychologist or behavior analystAmerican Heart Association BLS

Preferred:

Experience supervising work with children with feeding disorders or autism and related disorders in an educational, instructional, or therapeutic setting

Certifications and Licenses Required:

NJ Driver s LicenseFormal Teacher Certification

Scheduling Requirements:

Full Time 40 hours/week

Essential Functions:

Clinical Supervision and Applied-Behavior-Analytic ServicesSupervise BCBAs and other staff in the coordination and direction of patient intake and discharge activitiesSupervise BCBAs and other staff in the coordination and direction of assessment and treatment proceduresObserve assessment and treatment sessions and develop solutions when progress is insufficientReview and provide final approval of session materials, session descriptions, and progress notes, as appropriateSupervise BCBAs in the development and refinement of skill-acquisition programsSupervise BCBAs in the development and refinement of behavior-reduction programsMeet and collaborate with parents, school personnel, physicians, and other stakeholders to obtain input to ensure that programs are meeting the needs of customersProvide state-of-the-art clinical and consultative servicesResearchDevelop and guide research on the assessment and treatment of patients with feeding disorders or autism and related disordersPublish research articles in peer-reviewed journalsProcure grant and contract funding for researchOversee the development of presentations for local, national, and international conferencesAdministrativeDirect and oversee compliance issues and responsible conduct of researchOversee the interviewing, hiring, and training of staffAnalyze data to maintain financial solvencyDevelop, write, and implement policies and procedures for the programMay work with patients who vomit, or who engage in other forms of challenging behavior, such as aggression, self-injury, elopement, expulsion (spitting out foods or liquids during treatment), or property destruction

Physical Demands:

Must be able to move, lift, and carry patients and objectsMoving, lifting, or transferring of patients may involve independently lifting of up to fifty (50) pounds, as well as assisting with weights of more than one-hundred (100) poundsRequires use of abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigueThis position requires frequent movement, use of limbs, and good manual dexterity, coordination, and staminaThis position may also require extended periods of standing or sitting
