**What you'll bring to the team** As a Boat Captain you will be working within our attractions team in Park Operations. You will be responsible for operating on the platform which may include grouping guests & operating a boat with up to 8 guests on a defined route while interacting with them in a positive and engaging manner. You will uphold LEGOLAND Florida Resort’s highest standards of safety and cleanliness while exceeding guest expectations. **​** **Key Objectives:** With safety the number one priority, you will deliver an awesome guest experience while touring guests through the Cypress Gardens canal and an open waterway. **Main Responsibilities & Requirements:** + Navigate a canal and open waterway in a gas motor 8-person capacity boat. Operate boat at maximum capacity while ensuring it’s done in a safe and compliant manner. + Operate and perform platform ride operator responsibilities while in position. + Adhere to all applicable regulatory requirements while operating the boat. + Assist guests in boarding and exiting the boat/dock with guest safety a number one priority. + Utilize radio communication to relay location and pertinent information as requested and or as appropriate. + Maintain the cleanliness of the interior and exterior of boats. + Develop / maintain general park knowledge to assist guests and their concerns. + Follow department and Resort rules and procedures to included safety and operational. + Demonstrate a friendly, polite, service oriented demeaner to guests and fellow Model Citizens. + Clearly and effectively communicate verbally to groups of guests. + Ability to make sound decisions independently and know when to escalate concerns that require greater visibility and direction. + Flexible working hours required including early morning, late evenings, holidays and weekends to support park operation. + Other duties as assigned. **EMPLOYEES** **Health & Safety:** Employees are responsible for the safety of themselves, their colleagues and guests (where appropriate), in line with the Group Policy (HS001) and the law. Where incidents do occur, they must ensure that they are reported to their line manager and must cooperate with any investigation as appropriate. ​ **Qualifications & Experience** **Background and Experience:** + Must be at least 18 years of age​ + Must have successfully passed the Florida Boating Safety Course examination or + Minimum 1 year customer service experience, preferably in an environment that required two-way communication with guests/customers **Pay Range** USD $15.50/Hr.
