This role is responsible for assisting the Executive Chef in the smooth and profitable operation of all kitchen activities at the Village whilst delivering a service and standard that is equal to or superior to other Villages.
Key Responsibilities:
Direct and supervise the work of the kitchen team in the absence of, or as directed by, the Executive Chef, motivating the team to provide a timely, well presented, appropriately garnished, standard food product. Undertake and provide to more junior staff, technical and other training as required, and to attend periodic team and individual meetings as required. Promote a safety culture amongst staff by providing information, training, instruction and supervision in managing workplace risks. Ensure all kitchen and front of house staff have good product knowledge and can advise guests of dish composition. Ensure the efficient and productive use of labour in the Kitchen by assisting in the production of a weekly costed roster based on occupancy levels. Coordinate and oversee production and presentation of meal services, carrying out cooking duties where necessary, and utilizing computer systems for standard menus, costing and production planning.
To be successful you will have:
Certificate III in Commercial Cookery, or higher. International qualifications must be recognised by an Australian Trade College. Drivers Licence, C Class. Minimum three years chef experience and/or relevant industry experience Experience of supervising and managing a team. Proof of working rights within Australia Experience in Workplace Health and Safety requirements for the hospitality industry, including ISO and HACCP Remote work experience (highly regarded)
