McCain Foods (Canada) has an immediate opening for a Boiler and Refrigeration Mechanic reporting to the Utilities Manager this position is responsible for the maintenance of our boiler and refrigeration systems.

Responsibilities and Duties:

Day position but may be subject to some shift workSome call-in’s requiredResponsible for mechanical breakdown and proactive repairs of all equipment in the Boiler Room, Refrigeration areas and some aspects of Water Filtration. Support the Process Safety Management Program for Ammonia for the site through Management of Change documentation and Line Break PermitsMaintain a neat work area, perform daily housekeeping dutiesProvide assistance and support to maintenance and production departmentsAbility to successfully work individually or collaboratively with others Ability to accept and embrace change in a fast paced environment. Continuous improvement activities as assignedComply with factory GMP’s, Safety, and HACCP Best Operating ProceduresAll additional duties as they become assigned

 

 Qualifications:

Fully licensed Industrial Mechanic or a Power Engineer (or a diploma in a relevant technical field.) Boiler and Refrigeration Maintenance experienceBasic computer skills would be an asset.Experience with SAP computerized maintenance management system

 

 Applicants must possess a good safety record and continually demonstrate “safety first.”  Selection of employees for promotion is based upon such factors as ability, special training, experience, prior PEP Ratings, attendance, ability to meet the physical demands of the position, education, length of service, and involvement in additional assignments.  Length of service will be the determining factor when all other factors are relatively equal.  Testing may be required depending on the position applied for. Interviews will be held as necessary and those selected for interviews are determined based on meeting the criteria as noted above. An evaluation period will be used to determine the candidate’s suitability to the position. Shifts are subject to change and are not guaranteed due to scheduling demands.
