Essential Functions and Duties: Lead continuous improvement in production, safety, quality, cleanliness, housekeeping, employee coaching, position rotations, and inventory organization Ensure compliance with Lockout/Tagout policies and collaborate with Maintenance Supervisor on preventative and predictive maintenance Plan and execute annual boiler and kiln shutdowns, covering all systems, while analyzing uptime/downtime for efficiency Develop and communicate daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules with managers Collaborate with managers and vendors to maintain optimal equipment performance and explore new vendor options Maintain consumables for boiler and kiln operations to ensure consistent and efficient performance Manage boiler and kiln operations, ensuring optimal lumber drying and conditioning Work with supervisor on green lumber stacking issues and process optimization Ensure moisture content, kiln charts, and product specifications are met
Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent 3+ years of managerial experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment MT Class 2 Boiler Operator License or ability to obtain it 2+ years in medium-pressure boiler and dry kiln operations preferred Working experience drying Northwest softwood species of all kinds Proficiency with industrial controls and mechanical equipment Ability to pass a drug test and background checks Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
