Job Title: Boiler Operator

Job Description

The boiler operator is responsible for operating and monitoring a gas-fired turbine power plant to provide electricity, steam, heating hot water, and chilled water to a college campus. Operate a gas/#2 fuel boiler plant as a backup. Monitor electrical systems and perform preventative maintenance on plant equipment as directed.

Work Environment

The work environment is an industrial plant setting at a university. Weekday shifts have 8 people working, while weekends have 2 people working. The position requires flexibility for the following rotating shift:

7 days 3:00am – 3:00pm followed by 7 shifts off, and 7 nights 3:00pm - 3:00am followed by 7 shifts off.

AKA: 7 days on, 7 days off, 7 days on, and so on....

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00
