+ Primary purpose of this position:
Boiler Technicians service and maintain steam and hot water boiler heating systems, including repair and/or replacement of heating system components.
Specific Job Duties:
+ Follow and adhere to all company safety requirements and processes
+ Inspect and repair automatic control mechanisms and water columns, and auxiliary machines such as pumps, draft fans stokers and burners
+ Replace safety valves and regulators
+ Perform preventive maintenance; clean boilers and auxiliary equipment using scrapers, wire brush and cleaning solvent
+ Solder, thread, and/or press copper or steel piping when completing pipe repairs
+ Troubleshoot and diagnose issues on oil and gas boilers (both hot water and steam)
+ Perform combustion analysis utilizing Digital Combustion Analyzer and make corrections to fuel air mixtures as needed
Other Requirements:
+ Ability to work on a team and interact with people
+ Punctual and regular attendance
+ Understanding of single and three phase electrical systems
+ Working knowledge of applicable boiler codes
+ Strong mechanical aptitude
+ Must have the ability to travel to job sites and occasionally have overnight stays
+ Any other duties assigned by the supervisor
+ Valid driver's license and ability to meet company driver qualification policy
Education and Experience Requirements:
+ Must be a high school or trade school graduate or have a GED
+ Two years’ experience in pipefitting, fabricating, pump alignment and boiler operation preferred
+ Ability to enter data and generate service reports utilizing digital means
