+ Primary purpose of this position:
Boiler Technicians service and maintain steam and hot water boiler heating systems, including repair and/or replacement of heating system components.
Specific Job Duties:
+ Follow and adhere to all company safety requirements and processes
+ Inspect and repair automatic control mechanisms and water columns, and auxiliary machines such as pumps, and burners
+ Replace safety valves and regulators
+ Perform preventive maintenance; clean boilers and auxiliary equipment using scrapers, wire brush and cleaning solvent
+ Solder copper piping when completing pipe repairs
+ Repair or replace high pressure piping using power tools, gas torch and welding equipment
+ Repair, set up, and troubleshooting of oil and gas fired burners
Other Requirements:
+ Ability to work on a team and interact with people
+ Punctual and regular attendance
+ Understanding of single and three phase electrical systems and the ability to troubleshoot
+ Working knowledge of applicable boiler codes
+ Working knowledge of Hawk, Siemens, and Tekmir controls
+ Retubing and refractory experience preferred
+ Strong mechanical aptitude
+ Ability to learn new computer programs, software systems, and apps on a variety of devices
+ Must have the ability to travel to job sites and occasionally have overnight stays
+ Any other duties assigned by the supervisor
+ Valid driver's license and ability to meet company driver qualification policy
Education and Experience Requirements:
+ Must be a high school or trade school graduate or have a GED
+ Two years’ experience in pipefitting, fabricating, pump alignment and boiler operation
+ Ability to obtain welding certification
