What You'll Be DoingJob Scope: The Maintenance Planner is responsible for analyzing work orders and documentation to prepare estimates for time, cost, and labor required for maintenance services. This role involves applying specialized techniques to ensure efficient planning, organization, and scheduling of maintenance activities.
Primary responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Develop comprehensive work order and work package documentation, including material requisitions.
Create detailed work orders that:
Plan job steps in a logical sequence.
Clearly indicate required crafts, duration, special instructions, and necessary documentation.
Include all materials, service contracts, specialty tools, and equipment.
Build Field Work Packages containing all essential information, including scope notification, materials, resources, procedures, PPE requirements, and outside services as applicable.
Participate in job walk-throughs to capture the complete scope of work.
Interface with Gatekeepers, Craft Foreman, and Controls Manager to ensure effective communication and planning.
Ensure adequate work is planned to meet production needs while considering work-hour capacity.
Assist in developing strategic maintenance schedules and provide input for budget preparation.
Utilize SAP to determine priorities for timely planning.
Communicate any documentation issues to the Craft Foreman.
Prioritize personnel and environmental safety in all planning activities.
Create and submit material requisitions to the Procurement team.
Build and maintain professional relationships with team members and clients.
Ideal BackgroundEducation: High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Bachelor or Master degree in Construction Science, Building Science or advanced coursework is highly preferred.
Certification: No certification is required for this position.
Experience:
8 years of petrochemical experience.
5 years of fixed equipment hands on, working in maintenance and repair of towers, exchangers, tubular reactors, incinerator’s, drums, piping and valves.
2-5 years of Fixed Equipment Planning experience using SAP and the ability to procure and expedite materials and resources.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of maintenance processes in a chemical plant environment.
Proven experience in planning and scheduling maintenance work.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Proficiency in SAP or similar maintenance management software.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Make fair and consistent decisions ensuring compliance with policies and procedures.
Foster relationships with clients and operations to ensure effective scheduling and execution of plans.
Utilize your knowledge and experience to create concise plans that facilitate job execution.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to sit, stand, or walk for long periods of time.
