Job DescriptionNBC News is seeking an experienced Booking Producer based in Los Angeles, CA, to join the Network News Booking Team. This role will support booking efforts across NBC News’ broadcast, streaming, and digital properties, with a particular focus on the LA-anchored streaming broadcast, StayTuned NOW.
The ideal candidate must be well-sourced within the Los Angeles area and possess the ability to travel at a moment’s notice for breaking news coverage. This position requires strong news judgment, a self-starter mentality, and a proven ability to secure high-profile interviews under tight deadlines. This is a Sunday - Thursday shift, with typical hours being 10am - 7pm PST, with flexibility where need.
Responsibilities:
Identify, research, and secure top-tier guests and experts for NBC News broadcasts and digital platforms.Develop and maintain strong relationships with sources, publicists, and industry professionals in the LA area.Work closely with the New York-based booking team to coordinate coverage across platforms.Monitor breaking news and act swiftly to book relevant voices for live and taped segments.Ensure accuracy and journalistic integrity in all bookings.Utilize social media and other tools, such as Lexis Nexis, to track emerging stories and potential guests.Be in-office at least three times per week when not on location for assignments.QualificationsAt least 5 years of experience in news booking or newsgathering at a network or cable news level.Strong news judgment and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.Established rolodex of contacts in news, entertainment, and relevant industries.Proficiency in social media and research tools like Lexis Nexis.Excellent communication and negotiation skills.Willingness and availability to travel on short notice for breaking news coverage.Additional Requirements:
Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.This position is eligible for company sponsored benefits, including medical, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and a variety of other discounts and perks.
