Bookkeeper
Description We are looking for a meticulous Bookkeeper to join our team located in FORT WORTH, Texas, United States. This role primarily involves providing support for monthly reinsurance reporting and settling, as well as assisting with general accounting functions. This position offers a contract to permanent employment opportunity. Responsibilities: • Prepare comprehensive Excel templates for monthly reinsurance reporting. • Execute wire requests along with support for monthly settlements with fronting carriers, brokers, and reinsurers. • Prepare and input journal entries for monthly settlements. • Ensure the accuracy of reported loss totals by treaty period through detailed loss file reviews. • Assist with the preparation of journal entries for carrier investments and data imports for Schedule D statutory filings. • Provide necessary support for requests from external auditors, fronting carriers, brokers, and reinsurers. • Contribute to ad hoc reporting tasks as required. • Offer assistance to other members of the department as needed. • Ensure compliance with filing and settling deadlines for reinsurance contracts. • Handle contracts on run-off business separately from new/renewal business. Requirements • Possess substantial knowledge and experience in bookkeeping • Proficiency in financial reconciliation • Proficient in statutory financial reporting • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills • Strong attention to detail with high level of accuracy • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously • Proficient in using bookkeeping software and other related financial software • Strong verbal and written communication skills • Ability to work independently and as part of a team • Possess a high degree of integrity and confidentiality • Proven ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field is preferred • Relevant certification such as Certified Bookkeeper (CB) is a plus.
