Description Job Description: Full-Time Bookkeeper at Fiberoptic Subcontracting Company Company Overview: A growing fiberoptic subcontracting construction company specializing in laying fiberoptic cables in partnership with General Contractors. The company has 22 field workers and 5 back-office staff, with its busiest season during the summer. Currently undergoing operational restructuring, the company is focused on scaling its back office, administrative, and financial departments to support growth, with current revenue at $5-6M and a goal of reaching $8-10M. Position: Full-Time Bookkeeper Reporting Structure: Reports directly to the Owner/President initially Will eventually report to an Accounting Supervisor Key Responsibilities: Entering daily financial transactions Managing Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), and Payroll (via ADP), including gathering timesheets Managing weekly payroll for both field and office staff Entering Profit & Loss (P& L) statements and balance sheets Assisting two other bookkeepers: One focused on administrative duties One part-time bookkeeper to help balance the workload Generating financial reports such as P& L and balance sheets Utilizing QuickBooks Enterprise for all accounting tasks Experience & Requirements: 5-7 years of relevant experience, with construction industry experience preferred Proficiency in QuickBooks Enterprise and ADP Payroll processing AP, AR, and payroll management experience Bilingual in Spanish is essential due to the company's leadership A proactive and adaptable attitude, with the willingness to grow within the company Long-Term Goal: To support the scaling of back-office operations, particularly in the administrative and financial departments. This role is integral to the company’s financial management and operational efficiency. This position offers an opportunity to play a key role in a company’s growth and transformation within the fiberoptic construction industry. Requirements • Proven experience in the role of a Bookkeeper or a similar field • Proficient in using Microsoft Excel to manipulate and analyze data • Experience with QuickBooks or similar accounting software • Demonstrable knowledge of Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) processes • Aptitude for Account Reconciliation and Bank Reconciliations • Prior experience in handling Payroll • Skilled in Bookkeeping and maintaining accurate financial records • Strong attention to detail and ability to spot numerical errors • Good organizational and time-management abilities • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills • A degree in Finance, Accounting or related field is preferred.
