Bookkeeper
Description We are seeking a Bookkeeper to join our healthcare team located in Hackettstown, New Jersey. The primary role of the Bookkeeper will be to manage patient refunds, monitor bills, process payments, and maintain accurate records. This position offers a contract with potential for permanent employment. Responsibilities: • Managing and resolving a high volume of patient refunds • Monitoring and following up on outstanding bills • Accurately processing various types of payments • Manually entering some payments when necessary • Issuing checks to appropriate parties • Using QuickBooks for accounting tasks, although this is not a requirement • Conducting bank reconciliations to ensure financial accuracy • Using basic Excel skills to maintain and organize data • Ensuring a high level of detail orientation in all tasks. Requirements • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required, with demonstrated ability to use advanced functions and formulas for financial calculations. • Experience with high-volume invoicing is necessary, as the role involves managing large numbers of transactions and financial records. • Strong knowledge of Accounts Payable (AP) processes is required, including managing payments, resolving issues and maintaining accurate records. • Ability to perform bank reconciliations is crucial, to ensure that all financial transactions are accurately recorded and discrepancies are identified and resolved promptly. • Previous experience in a healthcare or NHS setting is preferred, but not necessary. • Must have a detail-oriented approach, with strong organisational skills to manage multiple financial tasks concurrently. • Excellent communication skills are required, both written and verbal, to interact effectively with colleagues and external parties. • A degree in finance, accounting or a similar field is preferred, or equivalent work experience in bookkeeping roles. • Should be able to maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information. • Familiarity with financial regulations and standards in the healthcare sector is beneficial.
