Description
Our client, a reputable company in the construction industry, is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join their finance team. The Bookkeeper will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, handling daily accounting transactions, and assisting with month-end closings. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a solid understanding of accounting principles and a desire to contribute to the financial health of a growing organization.
Responsibilities:
+ Maintain accurate financial records by recording all transactions and ensuring proper documentation.
+ Process accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring timely payments and collections.
+ Reconcile bank statements and accounts on a regular basis.
+ Assist with payroll processing and ensure accurate reporting of employee deductions and benefits.
+ Prepare and post journal entries and assist with month-end and year-end close processes.
+ Generate financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports.
+ Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities.
+ Ensure compliance with tax regulations and assist with tax filings and reports.
+ Monitor and maintain the general ledger, ensuring proper account coding and accuracy.
+ Prepare and submit necessary reports for management, stakeholders, and auditors.
+ Provide support for audits by preparing documentation and answering questions.
+ Manage and track fixed assets and depreciation.
+ Support accounting functions with ad hoc tasks as needed.
Requirements
+ Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
+ 2+ years of bookkeeping or accounting experience, preferably in the construction industry.
+ Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
+ Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage 50, Xero) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
+ Experience with construction accounting software (e.g., Procore, Viewpoint) is a plus.
+ Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
+ Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
+ Excellent communication and organizational skills.
+ Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
+ Basic knowledge of payroll processing and tax regulations.
