This is a short-term contract employment opportunity for an organization in Iowa City, Iowa. In this role, you will be entrusted with the management of all financial transactions, which includes fixed payments, variable expenses, bank deposits, and budgets. Responsibilities: • Accurately record daily financial transactions and complete the posting process. • Ensure transactions are recorded in the correct daybook, suppliers ledger, customer ledger, and general ledger. • Maintain and balance general ledger by transferring subsidiary account summaries. • Perform bookkeeping to the trial balance stage. • Prepare and present financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information. • Comply with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying requirements, enforcing adherence to requirements. • Contribute to team efforts by accomplishing related results as needed. • Perform account reconciliation, accounts payable and accounts receivable tasks. • Conduct bank reconciliations and month-end close processes. • Handle data entry tasks and utilize Microsoft Excel for various functions. • Manage payroll using ADP and QuickBooks. • Conduct financial audits and planning. Requirements + Proven bookkeeping experience with a solid understanding of accounting payable/receivable principles. + Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with relevant accounting software. + High degree of accuracy and attention to detail. + Must possess strong numerical skills. + AAT or equivalent qualification in Business or Accounting.
